Vol. 221 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ferrybank (Wexford) Amenity Scheme.

27.

asked the Minister for Local Government what is the present position with regard to the amenity development scheme at Ferrybank, Wexford.

Technical aspects of this scheme are being examined by my Department in the light of a further submission from the local authority on 2nd instant and in consultation with the Office of Public Works as regards the question of coast erosion. When this examination is completed and the corporation's proposals for the programming of the scheme are received, the possibility of allocating an amenity grant to the project, out of the funds available for such grants, will be considered in conjunction with the other claims on those resources.

Will the consideration take long?

I do not think I have that at the moment. We only got this further submission on the 2nd.

Of this month?

Yes, of this month.

You could not do much in five or six days.

No, not with the weekend intervening.

This is something you cannot be accused of delaying.
