Vol. 221 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Warble Fly Treatment.

34.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he will arrange to have a stamp put on a blue card each time an animal is treated for warble fly as the present system of having a separate card for warble fly treatment is causing a lot of confusion.

The use of the blue card for certification purposes was considered in connection with the 1965 Warble Fly Eradication Scheme, but there were difficulties associated with it for which no solution could be found. The campaign for 1966 is now being considered in consultation with the various interests concerned. If ways can be devised to improve any aspect of the scheme, I shall be glad to put them into operation.
