Vol. 221 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - North Dublin Water Scheme.

35.

asked the Minister for Local Government when the North County Dublin regional water scheme will begin to service Swords, Donabate, Lusk and Rush; and when it is expected that the entire scheme will become fully operative.

I am not in a position to state when the North Dublin regional water supply scheme will service these areas or when the entire scheme will come into operation. It has become necessary for the council's consulting engineer to re-assess the basic requirements of the area to be served in the light of proposed industrial, residential and tourist development with consequential revisions in pipe sizes.

A report from the consultant embodying these revisions which affect the areas concerned was received in my Department on the 8th March, and is at present under examination.
