asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the number of applications for price increases received by his Department under the Prices (Amendment) Act, 1965 in each of the past three months; the number rejected; and the number approved.

The information required is as follows:

In the month of December, 1965, I received 16 notifications of intention to increase prices. In 11 case I indicated I had no objection, one notification was withdrawn and four are still under examination. In the month of January, 1966, I received 16 notifications. In eight cases, I indicated I had no objection; in four cases, I objected; two notifications were withdrawn; and two are still under examination. In the month of February, 1966, I received 21 notifications. In ten cases I indicated I had no objection, in one case I objected, one notification was withdrawn and nine are still under examination.
