Vol. 221 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Butter Subsidy.

45.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if, in view of this country's increased butter export quota to Great Britain for the coming year, he will state the amount of subsidy to be paid by the Government thereon; and the amount paid in subsidy for the twelve months just ended.

It is estimated that the total Exchequer subsidy on exports of butter to Britain and Northern Ireland in 1966-67 will amount to about £4,600,000. The amount of the subsidy for the current year is estimated at £4,100,000.
