It is not possible to estimate the overall labour content of the different kinds of public works referred to by the Deputy. While in certain cases the direct payments of wages and salaries are known or can be estimated, in general no information is available on the labour content of materials used or of work carried out by contract. Under such circumstances it would not be of value to give the partial information available.
