asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state in respect of Meath County Council, Louth County Council and Dublin County Council the amount of the capital allocation for loans for local authority houses for 1966-67 notified, or to be notified, in each case and the estimated allocation to be made in each case in 1967-68.

With your permission, a Leas-Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take the replies to Questions Nos. 37 and 38 together. As they include a tabular statement, I propose with your permission, to circulate it with the Official Report.

Following is the reply:—

The county councils referred to by the Deputy were notified last week of the following capital allocations for 1966-67 in respect of house-purchase loans and local authority houses:—

County Council

Housepurchase loans

Local Authority houses

£

£

Meath

130,000

23,000

Louth

42,000

58,000

Dublin

650,000

320,000

The councils have been informed that they may proceed on the assumption that allocations for 1967-68 in respect of house-purchase loans will be of the same general order as for 1966-67. No decision has been made in regard to the estimated capital allocation to each housing authority in respect of the provision of local authority houses in 1967-68.
