Vol. 222 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tipperary-Waterford Garda Stations.

77.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will list the Garda stations in South Tipperary and West Waterford which are at present scheduled for renewal or repair, stating in each case when it is expected to have the new station built or the repairs carried out.

In South Tipperary the stations at Ardfinnan, Ballingarry South, Cappawhite, Emly, Fethard, Hollyford and Kilsheelan are scheduled for replacement and in West Waterford the stations of Aglish, Ardmore, Ballyduff, Cappagh, Cappoquin and Lismore are scheduled for replacement.

Work on the erection of a new station at Fethard is nearing completion. Working drawings have been prepared for the Ardmore station, and the drawings for Emly are in course of preparation. It is not possible at this stage to say when the actual construction works will be undertaken. Sites are being sought for the new stations at the other centres mentioned.

Major schemes of improvement are scheduled at Bansha, Killenaule and Shevry in South Tipperary and at Kill and Leamybrien in West Waterford. Repairs and minor improvement works will be carried out as required at other stations.
