Imports of unmanufactured tobacco from Rhodesia in 1965 were valued at £208,760, or 5.7 per cent of the total value of imports of unmanufactured tobacco in that year. The effect on the balance of payments of importing tobacco from the USA or other alternative sources to replace supplies formerly imported from Rhodesia will depend on the type of tobacco purchased and the price. It is not expected, however, that the effect will be significant.
