Vol. 222 No. 5

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take No. 5 on the Order Paper, Votes 43 and 44. Questions will be taken at 2.30 p.m.

Last night I gave the Taoiseach's Office notice that I would ask on the Order of Business this morning for time to discuss the motion handed in by me yesterday on behalf of the Fine Gael Party.

I would be anxious to facilitate the Opposition Party in taking a motion of that kind and I suggest the Whips meet to consider what is practicable.

Might I ask when we are likely to be given time to introduce Item No. 2? Might I say that we are under great pressure outside this House from members of the Taoiseach's Party to bring this measure forward at the earliest possible date?

So far as leave to introduce the Bill is concerned, I will order it on whatever day the Opposition want it.
