28.

asked the Minister for Local Government the number of families of five in one room on Dublin Corporation housing list in the first week in April 1966.

29.

asked the Minister for Local Government the total number of families of four in one room on Dublin Corporation waiting list in the first week of April 1966.

I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 27, 28, and 29 together.

The information is not available in the form requested by the Deputy. The Dublin Corporation's housing list is normally reviewed at three monthly intervals. I understand that, on 15th April, the date of the most recent review, there were on the approved waiting list 243 families of six persons and over living in one room, 847 families of five persons living in one room, and 1,622 families of four persons living in one room.

And in 1957 we had vacant houses with no one to go into them.

It is a shame. The men of 1916 died in vain.
