Vol. 222 No. 11

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 6—Votes 35, 36 and 38—and 2. No. 2 is being taken in conjunction with Vote 38. If not already reached, it is proposed to interrupt business at 7 p.m. to take Vote 38 and No. 2. The Dáil will meet tomorrow from 10.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will not meet on Thursday. Deputies should note, however, that circumstances may arise which may require a meeting of the Dáil between the adjournment tomorrow and re-assembly on Tuesday next.

Would the Taoiseach repeat that last announcement?

Circumstances may require a meeting of the Dáil between tomorrow and Tuesday next and Deputies should take note of this.

Could the Taoiseach give us any idea of what these circumstances may be?

I do not intend to.

The Government should govern or abdicate.

Would the Taoiseach be prepared to clarify this? We are in the middle of a discussion on Agriculture. Perhaps the Minister has to attend somewhere else?

No, I will be here.

Then why did you not finish Agriculture?

To oblige your colleagues.

There could be no better explanation. Tout savoir, tout comprendre.

In regard to the last thing the Taoiseach said, I assume if proposals are introduced here, the Parties in the House, particularly the Opposition Parties, will be given some time to consider them before there is a debate in the House?

We will try to facilitate the Parties in that regard. In the circumstances, I envisage the House would wish to meet anyway.

Do not get cross about it.

I am in the best of humour. I regret if I have given any other impression to the Deputy.
