I understand that a claim for increased pay for certain Civil Service grades including postmen has been lodged recently by the Staff Side Panel of the General Council under the Scheme of Conciliation and Arbitration for the Civil Service. It would be inappropriate for me, therefore, at this stage to comment on the present level of pay of postmen.
