Vol. 223 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Donegal Piers.

60.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he is aware that part of the pier at Rosbeg Harbour, County Donegal was recently washed away by heavy seas; and, if so, whether, in order to facilitate fishermen and tourists generally, including sea anglers, he will have immediate repairs effected to this pier.

I am aware that some damage was caused to this pier last winter and again recently. The repair of the pier is the responsibility of the Donegal County Council as maintenance authority.

61.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he will have the Stone Pier at Gortnasade, Kincasslagh, County Donegal, raised and extended as it is the only safe berth on the coastline for seine net fishing boats during a north wind.

I will have the Deputy's request examined.
