Vol. 223 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Schools.

38.

asked the Minister for Education if it is his intention to close the national schools at Naul, Balscadden and Ring Commons, County Dublin; and, if so, if the matter has been discussed with the parents of children at present attending schools in these three districts.

The rearrangement of the national schools at Naul, Balscadden and Ring Commons, in order to cater in the best possible way for the education of the children of the area, is under consideration in my Department at present.

I have already received a deputation of parents from the Naul area and preliminary discussions have taken place with the school managers concerned.

Is it the Minister's intention to discuss the implications of this with the parents in the other two areas as well?

If the parents in the other two areas indicate that they want to have the matter discussed with them, then it certainly will be discussed with them.
