With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 19 and 20 together.
The numbers of applications on 31st May, 1966, being dealt with for grants for (a) farm buildings other than self-feed silage units and (b) self-feed silos proposed to be constructed concurrently with loose houses for cows were 53,594 and 1,098, respectively. The comparable figures at the corresponding date in 1965 were 44,422 and 635.
Bad weather in the early part of this year adversely affected the completion of works in progress and the starting of new works.
