Members of the police forces of neighbouring countries, including Britain, visit this country and members of the Garda, in turn, visit neighbouring countries, including Britain, from time to time when serious crimes are being investigated. In such cases the visitors are afforded every proper assistance by the local Force in the interests of close co-operation in the detection and prevention of crime. This procedure benefits all the countries concerned, and I see nothing whatsoever wrong with the practice.
