Vol. 224 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Schools.

32.

asked the Minister for Education if and when a decision will be reached in connection with the erection of a new school at Camp, County Kerry on the new site purchased some years ago; and what progress has been made since his last reply on this matter.

As was stated in the reply of 25th May, 1966, what is involved in this case is the provision of the best possible education for the children in the area. Preliminary investigations have already been made. I hope to be in a position to put forward proposals in this case shortly.

33.

asked the Minister for Education what is the present position regarding the erection of a new school at Listellick, Tralee, County Kerry; and what class accommodation is to be provided there.

Agreement has been reached with the Reverend Manager of Listellick national school as to the local contribution towards the cost of the new school of three classrooms which is to be erected in replacement of the existing school building. Satisfactory evidence of title to the site for the new school has not yet been submitted to my Department but I am assured that this matter is receiving urgent attention locally.

Every effort will be made to eliminate avoidable delay in dealing with the remaining arrangements for the building of the new school.
