andMr. T. O'Donnell asked the Minister for Transport and Power the present value of the CIE wages grade pensions fund; and the annual revenue of the fund from (a) dividends, (b) contributions from employees, and (c) all other sources.

The value of the CIE wages grade pensions fund at 31st December, 1965, was £4,583,559. The revenue of the fund in the same year amounted to £790,390, and was derived from—

(a) dividends—£209,594,

(b) contributions from employees —£178,860, and

(c) contributed by the Board— £401,936 as calculated by the actuaries to meet forward commitments from the Fund.

andMr. T. O'Donnell asked the Minister for Transport and Power the present number of CIE wage grade pensioners; and the total annual value of pensions paid to them.

The present number of CIE wage grade pensioners is 3,576. The current annual value of the CIE pensions paid to them is £316,606.
