Vol. 226 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - London Chamber of Commerce Delegation.

163.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will make a statement in connection with the visit of a 21-member delegation of the London Chamber of Commerce to this country for trade talks with Irish business leaders; whether he has met this delegation; and if the talks were of advantage to industrial development in this country.

The recent visit to Ireland by a delegation of the London Chamber of Commerce was, I understand, organised by that Chamber in co-operation with the Dublin Chamber of Commerce. I was glad to have the opportunity of meeting representatives of the group. The Industrial Development Authority also met representatives of the group, and gave them full information on the possibilities for industrial development in this country. It is too soon to say whether any new industrial projects will result.
