Following the publication early in 1966 by the Irish Agricultural Organisation Society of a plan which illustrated a possible form of reorganisation of the dairying industry, the society discussed its plan at regional meetings held by it with co-operative creameries. I understand that while some proposed groupings of creameries in the plan did not meet with general approval at the regional meetings the idea of re-organisation was, on the whole, well received. It appears that more recently opinion among creameries may be growing more favourable to re-organisation of the industry and I am at present considering how, in the light of developments, the aim of a completely reorganised industry may best be achieved.
