Vol. 226 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tax Allowance for Medical Expenses.

58.

asked the Minister for Finance if the special committee set up by his predecessor to examine the possibility of a tax allowance for medical expenses has yet furnished a report; and, if so, what action he is taking thereon.

I have received the report to which the Deputy refers and am considering it at present.

Does the Minister intend to circulate the report?

Because it is a report to me.

Is there any reason why it should not be circulated to Members of the House? Is it not in the public interest to circulate it to Members of the House?

What will be of interest to the public is the action I shall take on the report.

This is most discourteous.
