This matter has been considered from time to time, more particularly in the context of the effort to reach international agreement on a single colour television system, and when the television transmitters at present in use were being ordered care was taken to ensure that they would be readily adaptable for transmissions in colour if and when such transmissions became practicable. However, in view of the high costs involved, and other more pressing needs of the broadcasting service, no firm plans are at present under consideration for the introduction of colour television.
