I am not in a position to give particulars of revenue collected by the State in the western counties mentioned in the question since revenue statistics are not compiled in such a way as to provide the information sought.
As regards State expenditure in these counties, the work of compiling the necessary information in respect of each of the past five years would be extremely laborious and would not justify the expense involved. However, information on State expenditure in western counties in 1961-62 and 1965-66 is at present being assembled for inclusion in the surveys being carried out by the County Development Officers in those counties. I shall be in a position to let the Deputy have this information in about two months' time. If he repeats his question then in so far as it relates to expenditure in the two years I have mentioned, I expect to be able to give him the particulars he requires.
