Vol. 226 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Tipperary Estates.

28.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring the Delehunty Estate, formerly the Kickham Estate at Ballydonnell, Mullinahone, County Tipperary.

There are no proceedings for the acquisition of this property but certain inquiries are being carried out at present. Until these inquiries are completed, it is not possible to indicate what action may follow in regard to the lands.

29.

asked the Minister for Lands the reason for the delay in meeting the request of Waterford County Council for portion of the Fennessy Estate, Kilmacormac, Clonmel in view of the urgent need for land for building purposes.

Final arrangements have not yet been settled for disposal of this 30-acre property. However, all the necessary enquiries on the ground have been concluded and it is hoped that resale proposals will be approved so as to permit allocation of the lands this spring. The needs of Waterford County Council for building sites will be fully considered in connection with the disposal of the lands; the local inspector has discussed their requirements with the council.
