asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce why, in respect of £5,898,566 capital employed in Irish Steel Holdings Ltd., only £17,438 interest was paid, or .3 per cent in the last financial year.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Irish Steel Holdings Ltd.
48.
The interest paid by the company in the year ended 30th June, 1966, was in respect of commercial loans. The State investment in Irish Steel Holdings Ltd. is by way of cash for ordinary shares. No interest is payable on this investment, and no dividend was paid in that year.
Did the Minister say that no dividends were paid in that year? When would it be hoped the Irish taxpayer would get a dividend back? When would it be hoped there would be a profit?
I do not know that I could indicate that now.
