Vol. 227 No. 4

Private Members' Business. - Business of Dáil.

I understand that agreement has been reached that the House will convene at 10.30 in the morning. I am not sure agreement has yet been reached about how long the House will sit but it has at least been agreed we shall meet at 10.30 a.m.

Does that mean Private Members' Time will be taken tomorrow as we normally do on a Wednesday?

I presume so. It would, of course, be a matter for agreement between the Whips. That is as far as I can go.

It is something the Chair might have reference to.

It seems to be a matter for the Whips to fix the business of the day.

I should like some provision to be made to protect the interests of Private Members in regard to Private Members' Time. If it is envisaged we should finish early—if it is possible—there should be some provision that Private Members' Time would be taken just the same.

The intention is to sit tomorrow until 10.30 p.m. and clear away a great many Supplementary Estimates, and if they are not finished, it is proposed to sit on Thursday. There are Supplementary Estimates for Roinn na Gaeltachta, Defence, Agriculture and a few more.

Tá go maith. Is leor sin.
