Vol. 227 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Paper Supplies to Shannon Company.

10.

andMr. Cluskey asked the Minister for Transport and Power if he is aware that Sales and Catering (Shannon) were previously supplied by National Board and Paper Mills Limited and Killeen Paper Mills Limited; but that orders have now been cut back; and where this concern are getting their supplies from now.

I assume that the question relates to cartons of various kinds used to pack goods sold as exports from the duty-free shops at Shannon Airport. The purchase of these items is the responsibility of the Comptroller of Sales and Catering who, I understand, obtains them from several sources, including one in Northern Ireland whose price is lower. The companies mentioned in the question have not been substantial suppliers in the last few years and there has been no recent cut-back in orders. The greater part of the supplies is obtained from another Irish manufacturer.
