Vol. 228 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Conditions for Life Annuity Payment.

21.

asked the Minister for Lands what conditions govern the payment of a life annuity to a person who offers his holding to the Land Commission.

The Life Annuity (Sale of Land to Land Commission) Regulations, 1967, dated 27th January, 1967, had the effect of bringing into operation the scheme of life annuities authorised by section 6 of the Land Act, 1965. These regulations, which I understand are available to Deputies in the Library, deal in detail with the practical application of the scheme and I would refer the Deputy to them.

An informal booklet has been prepared by the Land Commission for the guidance of landowners interested in the scheme and I shall arrange to have a copy sent to the Deputy.
