asked the Minister for Finance when he expects to be able to survey and publish new ordnance maps for County Kildare.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kildare Ordnance Maps.
28.
A part revision of the County Kildare, covering the urban areas and involving approximately one-third of the whole county area, was carried out in 1939. It is not possible to say when the revision of the remainder will be undertaken as priority is being given to a resurvey of the Dublin area and other major urban areas.
Is the Minister aware that the ordnance maps for most of Kildare are at present completely outdated due to the realignment of roads and Land Commission resettlement?
Yes.
Why does the Minister not do something about it?
It is a question of priorities.
Why not provide more funds for the Ordnance Survey Department?
It is still a question of priorities.
