Vol. 229 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Marginal Land Afforestation.

18.

asked the Minister for Lands if his Department's policy has changed so that marginal land will no longer be planted for afforestation purposes.

There has been no such change in my Department's policy.

Would the Minister care to deny a rumour which is circulating in Donegal that there is a substantial reduction in the amount to be expended on afforestation in Donegal?

That is a separate question.

It is a completely separate question.

Would the Minister deny or confirm it?

I will not deny or confirm something raised here ad hoc by the Deputy. I do not know the amount of money that has been spent in Donegal, and if the Deputy wants information in this regard, he should put down a question accordingly.

Will the Minister deny it?

I am not going to chase every hare raised.

Surely the Minister should be in possession of such information?
