The health authority propose to fill, through the Local Appointments Commission, the vacant permanent posts of district medical officers in the dispensary districts of Aran Islands, Inishbofin, Carna and Cloonbur No. 2.
I have put a proposal to the authority for the payment of an enhanced salary in respect of the island posts, which, I understand, will be considered at the meeting of the county council to be held this week.
The doctors appointed to Carna and Cloonbur No. 2 will be permitted to enter the salary scale at the maximum, £1,820 per annum.
