asked the Minister for Education the reason for the delay in sending Mayo County Vocational Education Committee the plans and specifications for the 22 prefabricated classrooms planned by them; and whether a full cost grant, including furniture, will be advanced to the committee for those rooms.

Mr. O'Malley
Plans and specifications for the prefabricated classrooms could not be sent to individual vocational education committees pending the placing of the bulk-purchase contract. This has now been done and the plans and specifications have been issued to all the vocational education committees concerned.
The supply, delivery and erection of these classroom units will be free of cost to the committees concerned. The purchase of the necessary furniture will be a matter for the committees themselves and this will be financed in the ordinary way through loans raised by the committees and repaid with the aid of the usual Departmental contribution.
