Vol. 231 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Greek Military Regime.

4.

asked the Minister for External Affairs whether this country has made known its attitude towards the Greek military regime in any of the international organisations of which Ireland is a member.

The answer to the Deputy's question is in the negative.

This is a rather strange state of affairs. Many of the countries associated with the EEC have already made known their attitude on this matter. Is there any reason why we have not done so?

The occasion has not arisen when we must do so.

Is this our attitude to this matter, that when we are forced to make our attitude known, then we shall do so?

Not necessarily. We make our decisions according to the particular situation.
