asked the Minister for Education whether there has been any significant alteration in the teacher-pupil ratio in secondary schools as a result of the introduction of his assisted education scheme.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Teacher-Pupil Ratio.

Mr. O'Malley
Under the rules governing the payment of incremental salary to secondary teachers one teacher may be employed for every 15 pupils. As accordingly the number of teachers in the secondary schools continues to keep pace with the increase in the number of pupils, there is no significant alteration in the teacher-pupil ratio in the school-year 1967-68 as compared with 1966-67.
