asked the Taoiseach the emigration from each of the 26 counties for each of the years 1961 to 1965.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Emigration Figures.
The only available information on emigration from individual counties is that derived from the periodic Censuses of Population, taken in conjunction with registrations of births and deaths. This relates to net-emigration, i.e. the excess in the number of emigrants over that of immigrants, in the intervals between censuses. It should be noted that the figures for net-emigration take into account all movement into or out of each county, whether to or from some other country or whether due to transfers within the State from one county to another.
I propose, with your permission, Sir, to circulate in the Official Report a statement giving the net-emigration from each county during the inter-censal period 1961 to 1966.
Following is the statement:

Would the Parliamentary Secretary say when the next census is due?
I think it is due every five years.
