Beef export subsidy is not computed per beef carcase, but per lb. carcase weight. With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to circulate with the Official Report a statement showing the average weekly rate and the highest and lowest weekly rates of subsidy per lb. carcase weight paid during each month of 1967.

NOTE: Subsidy is payable on carcases complying with specified quality standards and weighing not less than 450 lbs. in the case of a bullock and 390 lbs. in the case of a heifer. The maximum subsidy payment in respect of any carcase is limited to that appropriate to a carcase weighing 830 lbs. in the case of a bullock and 700 lbs. in the case of a heifer.
