Vol. 232 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballymun Housing Scheme.

22.

asked the Minister for Local Government when it is hoped to complete the Ballymun scheme, Dublin; and whether progress on this scheme is in accordance with the expected time schedule.

The period of contract is four years from February, 1965. The contractors are confident that, given a continuance of the present rate of progress, the works will be completed in accordance with the terms of contract. To date, more than 2,000 of the 3,021 dwellings in the contract have been structually completed, of which 1,541 have been handed over to the corporation, excluding dwellings now being prepared for handing over. The rate of construction achieved in recent months is greater than the original target.
