Vol. 232 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Galway Land Division.

19.

asked the Minister for Lands if the Land Commission will expedite the division of lands in their possession in Ahascragh parish, County Galway, especially the following holdings which they have had for some years: (a) Stauntons lands in Ballybane and Ballyboggan, (b) Willie Lally's, Ballybane and Creggane, and (c) John Kelly's, Kilglass and Runnymede.

Composite resale proposals are envisaged for the holdings referred to and for other properties recently acquired or about to be acquired in this district with a view to the formulation of a comprehensive scheme of land settlement. It is expected that a considerable amount of rearrangement will be undertaken— and the necessary inquiries on the ground are being pushed forward as rapidly as possible.

I might add that an area of 70 acres in this district was allotted last month to local smallholders.
