Vol. 233 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Clonmel Garda Houses.

29.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware of the unsatisfactory nature of housing for gardaí and their families at Clonmel, County Tipperary, having particular regard to the urgent need for repairs and improvements to the Garda houses at Emmett Street; and what steps he is taking to remedy the situation.

Mr. O'Malley

Housing arrangements for married gardaí are, generally speaking, satisfactory at Clonmel, where official accommodation is provided for eight married members. Minor works and repairs are required at three of the houses, and the Office of Public Works is arranging to have these executed without delay.

Can the Minister say when the works in question are likely to commence?

Mr. O'Malley

Within a very short time.
