Vol. 233 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - South Tipperary Vocational School.

39.

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware that South Tipperary Vocational Education Committee on the casting vote of the chairman decided to purchase a site for a new vocational school outside the town which is considered unsuitable by the Urban District council members owing to its location and because the price is excessive; and what steps he proposes to take in the matter.

Mr. O'Malley

I am aware that the position in the matter of a site for a new vocational school in Tipperary is as stated by the Deputy. Pending submission of the required particulars and the examination of the site, I am unable to say what action I may take in this matter.

Would the Minister say what town is referred to?

Mr. O'Malley

This is very contentious. It is a very detailed proposal.

I am surprised at the Minister giving the reply he did when the question does not ask for the town.

Mr. O'Malley

If I am asked that, I shall give the reply.

Surely the Minister should find out what answer he should give?

Question No. 40 postponed.
