The Local Improvements Scheme, which comes into operation on 1st April, 1968, is intended to replace minor employment schemes, bog development schemes and rural improvement schemes. The amount to be provided for Local Improvements Scheme grants in the coming financial year has not yet been determined. When it has, a proportionate allocation will be made to all counties including Kerry.
