These proposals have not yet been approved by me. The information in respect of a number of these tenders, to which I referred in my reply to the Deputy's question of 7th instant, was received in my Department last week and is at present being examined. A decision on the proposals will be given by me as quickly as possible.
Surely the Minister will admit there were only two questions asked of the local authority and that those two questions were so simple that the local authority were astounded the Department should ask for them? Would the Minister not agree, the replies having been sent back, that the tenders have been delayed long enough and would he try to have them sanctioned because there are people waiting for houses?
We got the information last week and we will give a decision as quickly as possible.
