Vol. 235 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Education Facilities.

36.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state what plans his Department have for the provision of facilities for secondary education for the growing population in the Santry-Collinstown area, County Dublin.

The post-primary school accommodation for Dublin is under continuous review in my Department.

So far two new comprehensive schools to cater for 2,000 pupils have been sanctioned for Ballymun. A total of seven new post-primary schools has been sanctioned for the Whitehall/ Larkhill and Kilmore Road areas. A new secondary school for boys is being provided in Swords, where a major extension of the existing vocational school is also proposed. The majority of these schools will be reasonably situated in relation to the Santry/ Collinstown area.
