asked the Minister for Health the earliest date on which he hopes to introduce legislation to control dangerous drugs.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Control of Drugs.
60.
I presume that the Deputy is aware of the existing statutory controls which apply to certain drugs, under the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1934, and the Medical Preparations (Control of Sale) Regulations, 1966, and I take it that his question relates to the proposed measures to deal with the unauthorised possession of what are generally termed "soft" drugs (amphetamines, barbiturates, LSD etc.).
I hope to introduce legislation next autumn.
Did the Minister read what was in the Journal of the Irish Medical Association?
