Vol. 236 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Tipperary FCA Hall.

33.

asked the Minister for Defence if he is aware that the FCA Hall at Puckane, Nenagh, County Tipperary, has been recently let to a political Party; when this practice commenced; and if the same facility is available to all political Parties.

Through a local misunderstanding the use of the FCA Hall at Puckane, Nenagh, was so allowed on 8th October, 1968.

To whom was it sold?

"So allowed."

Will the Minister state to which political party it was let?

The Fianna Fáil Party. It was a misunderstanding.

The Minister does not expect people to believe that it was accidental.

Accidental or not the first I heard of it was when this question was put down. I can state categorically that no military official gave permission for this meeting.

Who was at fault?

Will disciplinary action be taken against whoever was at fault?

I inquired into the matter fully and I formed the opinion that the caretaker's wife fell for the "Yes" gag.
