In the case of secondary school pupils texts are prescribed only in the language subjects. Many of these texts consist of specially prepared anthologies which contain the course for a number of years. Several of the other texts appear on the programme at regular intervals so that second-hand copies of them should be available.
Grants are given for the provision of free school books and accessories for all necessitous pupils.
