asked the Minister for Local Government when the swimming pool at Crumlin, Dublin will be completed; and its total final cost.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Swimming Pools.
I have been informed by the Dublin Corporation that the pool referred to by the Deputy is expected to be completed in July, 1969, at an estimated cost of approximately £76,000.
Is the Minister not aware that this has already been made known to the members of Dublin Corporation?
Possibly. I cannot help it if Deputy O'Connell does not talk to the members of Dublin Corporation.
Does the Minister not realise that Deputy Dowling is a member of Dublin Corporation?
What does that mean?
It means that the Minister is very quick to tell other members of this House who are members of Dublin Corporation to go to Dublin Corporation for the information.
I did not put down this question. It was put down by Deputy O'Connell——
Question No. 60 is in the name of Deputy Dr. John O'Connell.
But he knows all about it. He attends the meetings of Dublin Corporation and so do I.
Could the Minister say if Deputy Dowling attends any meetings of Dublin Corporation taking into account that he asks these questions in the House?
He attends every meeting of Dublin Corporation. In fact, he pesters me with questions after these meetings.
61.
asked the Minister for Local Government if he will give an assurance that he will give immediate sanction to Dublin Corporation for plans for the provision of a swimming pool in Ballyfermot, Dublin, as soon as they are submitted.
I would refer the Deputy to my reply of the 20th June last to Question No. 18 in which I stated that, until reasonable progress had been made with the building of new pools which I had already released for commencement, I would not feel justified in taking on further swimming pool commitments.
