Vol. 238 No. 6

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Nos. 11 and 12 on the Order Paper and there will be no Private Member's Business.

The Minister for Finance was to tell me whether he will be introducing a special Bill to deal with the Schedule A and Schedule B eradication provisions, or whether he will leave it until the main Vote is being taken.

I thought the Deputy was putting down a Question.

I will ask the Minister on the Order of Business tomorrow, if that is time enough, or on Tuesday if he likes.

Tomorrow.

What about my Companies Bill?

It will be ordered for tomorrow morning.

Can the Taoiseach say if it is being opposed?

In view of the very serious situation in the teachers' strike I wonder could the questions to the Minister for Education be allowed?

The Chair has no notice of that question.

Deputy Clinton's request is that the questions addressed to the Minister for Education on the Order Paper might be taken now in view of the serious position concerning the teachers' strike.

As the Deputy is well aware, normally Questions finish at 4 o'clock. There is nothing I can do about it.

By agreement. I understand the Minister is agreeable to take his questions now.

The Order of Business has been called.

I am calling No. 11.
