With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 38, 39 and 40 together.
I would refer the Deputies to my reply to Questions Nos. 31 and 32 on 28th November, 1968, in which I said I was satisfied that no cause for public anxiety existed in relation to the stability of the Ballymun flats, but that I would make a public statement in the matter when I had received and considered a report from my technical advisers.
Interim reports assured me that, from the inquiries and studies made by the investigators and their advisers, all indications are that no structural alterations of the Ballymun flats are required. My advisers are keeping in touch with detailed research still proceeding in other countries and are awaiting some further information to enable them to present a final report to me, on receipt of which I will make a public statement.
I am assured that the introduction of jumbo jets will not create any element of risk to the Ballymun flats.
